#29 Graphical issues with the simulation buttons under linux

opened 7 years ago by carlos.garcia · 5 comments

The simulation buttons (play, step and reset) in the bottom panel have some graphical problems under linux. Please see the attached image file for details.

Issues: 1) The background color is white 2) Too much space is used 3) The buttons are not centered? 4) The speed label cannot be read.

could you check if the problem is resolved in linux?

The color problem is indeed solved :D

Would it be feasible to put the Simulation Speed label and edit box in a different row? See the attached picture as reference.

Make sure that the edit box (of the simulation speed option) is also a fixed size so that it doesn't change size depending on the number inputted.

Actually, I believe it would be better to switch the input box for a slider (with, e.g., a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 10,000) for the speed.

how is it now?

@kevin.trometer Looks great. Can we remove the number labels under the slider? They occupy too much space. Leaving only the top value (the one that specifies the current speed) is enough. We might have to change the number range as well. The current one is difficult to use (I did not account for that in my initial suggestion). The minimum should not be zero and the maximum is too large, instead, let's try with a range of 500 to 5000.
